OnTheMarket, the online property firm set up by estate agents to challenge Rightmove and Zoopla, has appointed Jason Tebb as its new chief executive.
For the last three years Tebb has been group chief operating officer of Ultimate Holdings, a firm specialising in property investment, management and development.
The 45-year-old has previously had roles at estate agents including Chestertons and Foxtons.
He will start the role and join the board on December 14.
OnTheMarket’s former chief Ian Springett left the business in March and Clive Beattie, chief financial officer, became acting boss.
Beattie will continue as acting chief executive until Tebb joins the group, at which point he will resume his role as finance chief.
Christopher Bell, non-executive chairman of OnTheMarket, said: “We believe Jason has the skills and sector experience to take the group forward and achieve our objective of building a strong, agent-backed, profitable and technology-enabled business.”
Incoming boss Tebb said: “As a business, OnTheMarket has solid foundations with strong operational momentum, and there are clear opportunities for growth by working with the estate agent community to develop our differentiated portal offering, build a profitable, sustainable and technology-led business, and deliver value for our stakeholders.”
